"Taking Chance"...A must watch Memorial Day Movie.

This is a Memorial Day movie that should be watched by all...it is brilliant. Its on HBO or get the DVD...this is the America I know.

The real Lieutenant Colonel Mike Strobel. Thank you LTC Strobel. I salute you.

Chance Phelps, "May you rest in the Lords Arms in Peace young man." Colonel Strobel, all my respect to you for escorting this young man home to his family. Semper Fi. Thank you for your service to all of our Military. Thank you for giving me nights of rest. None of us like war, but until this world ends, it will continue.

Have a safe Memorial Day people...remember our veterans and those serving overseas...

I'm back on the writing track..lots to write about...enjoy he day and don;t drink and drive.

Peace out Patriots.

  3. Hola King. I saw Taking Chance about 6 months ago....I think.....and it was a great movie. Bacon really did a great job acting in this movie. To know that it was based on a true story was so much more moving. Thanks for bring attention to those that have or are serving. And to those that have paid the ultimate price. As Abe Lincoln once wrote, "Executive Mansion,
    Washington, Nov. 21, 1864.

    Dear Madam,--

I have been shown in the files of the War Department a statement of the Adjutant General of Massachusetts that you are the mother of five sons who have died gloriously on the field of battle.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.

I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

    Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

    A. Lincoln"
